Priyanka Chopra shell-Shocked by Gowariker's Outburst

Ashutosh Gowariker’s comments on Priyanka Chopra not deserving the Best Actress award at a recent awards function, has left the industry shell-shocked.

While the actress has withdrawn into a dignified silence she has told friends that Gowariker who’s currently directing her in What’s Your Raashee said what he felt and that she holds no grudges.

Too private and dignified a person to speak against anyone Priyanka has apparently made up her mind to finish her work on Raashee and move on quietly.

Says a source, “It’s not a good time for Priyanka. Shayad usski raashee achchi nahin hai, pun intended. What’s Your Raashee is the toughest role of her career.

Priyanka not only had to enact twelve parts she also had to assemble all twelve parts on the screen together for the climax. It sapped her. She even fainted on the sets.

And now after having won every single popular award for Fashion it’s a shame that she was publicly told that she didn’t deserve the award, and that too from her own director.

Anyway Priyanka is a professional. She hasn’t allowed her breakup with Hurman to affect her on-screen chemistry with him. She won’t let this incident sour her.In fact she jokingly told a friend she hopes to be back at the awards with Raashee.”
I’m shocked by what Ashutosh had to say. We’re friends and I admire his work. More than us, our wives are very close friends.

If he felt this way he should’ve shared it with me and Priyanka, not spoilt the golden moment for her on stage. Priyanka got every popular award. Doesn’t that prove she deserves it?”

What shocked Madhur more was the fact that the criticism came from Priyanka’s own director. “He’s working in What’s Your Raashee with Priyanka. That’s what makes his outburst more baffling and contradictory.”

Gowariker seems to have rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way the awards function.

One of the hosts for the evening says, “After Boman Irani and Riteish Deshmukh did their skits on Anil Kapoor and the best films of the year Ashutosh Gowariker stormed back -stage and gave Boman and Riteish a firing.

What’s his problem, yaar? Who appointed him the industry’s resident MNS?”

I want to be a Villain now: Shreyas

After getting recognition in both serious as well as comedy films, actor Shreyas Talpade now wants to play a villain.

"I did try my hands playing a negative character in Aggar, but the film didn't work well. However, I havent played a full-fledged negative role so far. In fact, I am now looking for the role of a villain. I have been experimenting with myself. And this is the only thing which is left and I will do that as well," Talpade says.

After delivering hit comedies like Apna Sapna Money Money, Golmal Returns and Welcome to Sajjanpur, he will once again be seen in another laugh riot Paying Guest opposite bikini-girl Celina Jaitley.

Talking about his role in the film where he disguises himself as a housewife to stay as a paying guest, the 33-year-old actor said that its challenging for anyone to play a woman with enough of conviction. "Even the make-up used to take a long time. I took almost two to three hours to get ready," he says.

Directed by scriptwriter-turned-director Paritosh Painter, the film revolves around four young boys - Shreyas Talpade, Aashish Choudhary, Javed Jafferi and Vatsal Sheth who are looking for an accommodation. The film also stars Neha Dhupia and Riya Sen.

When asked about the secret behind his not being stereotyped as an actor, he says, "I dont know the reason. I am fortunate enough to have got all kinds of roles and worked with all kinds of directors. I am happy that everyone has a role for me which they think will suit me".

But is doing a slapstick comedy equally challenging as playing a 'bahurupia' the one he played in Nagesh Kukunoors Dor?

"Yes. I love films. For me, a film is a film and it doesn't matter which category it falls into. You have to put in the same kind of effort for both. Comedy is actually a little more difficult because it is difficult to make people genuinely laugh. And as long as I am enjoying it, I will keep doing it," the actor, who is liked by audiences and critics alike said.

Describing Dor as his best work, he says that each of his films has taken him a step forward in life.

On reports that he would be playing legendary singer Kishore Kumar in Kukunoors next film, he says, "There have been rumours like this. Nothing is final so far. But that would be really challenging for any actor to play Kishore da, as he is still a legend."

Freida Pinto admits relationship with Dev Patel

Slumdog Millionaire" actress Freida Pinto has come out and spoken for the first time about her friendship with co-star Dev Patel saying it has become stronger.

Thesun.co.uk reports that the two were seen getting intimate in Israel and were also spotted shopping for a ring here after the film was released.

The 24-year-old actress has called 19-year-old Patel a "lovely boy".

"The friendship blossomed after the film, it got even stronger. This is all new to us," she added.

Deepika to do item number in Telugu Movie!

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is set to shoot an item number for a Telugu film titled Love 4 Ever.

"Deepika has agreed to shoot an item number for the forthcoming venture Love 4 Ever from June 24 onwards - her first in Telugu," a publicist told IANS.

Starring Ranadeep and Mridula, Love 4 Ever is being made in Hindi and Telugu and Jayant C. Paranji is wielding the megaphone for it. Laughing Waters Entertainment is producing the film.

"The successful track record of Paranji for having enlisted the services of another Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai came in good stead in this film," added the source.

Deepika started her career with Kannada film Aishwarya and debuted in Hindi films with 2007 hit Om Shanti Om.

Slumdog kids shine at IIFA green Carpet

Three child stars of the multiple Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire stole the limelight as they walked the green carpet at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) event with panache.

The child stars, Tanay Chheda, Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar and Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala, sent the paparazzi into overdrive, clicking away furiously as the trio walked the green carpet with great confidence on the opening day of the IIFA in Macau on Thursday evening.

The kids displayed no trace of nervousness.

Chheda (who played young Jamal's friend), Lonkar (who played the middle Latika) and Gajiwala (who played the middle Salim), accompanied some of Bollywood's best stars and won most of the applause.

A journalist of a Portuguese newspaper was overheard saying: "I just need quotes from the Slumdog Millionaire kids. Our readers will be happy to read what they have to say."

And the kids happily obliged.

"We are extremely excited about being here at the IIFA. We'll get to meet so many stars," gushed Lonkar with a twinkle in his eyes.

Gajiwala spoke to journalists about Hollywood and Bollywood.

"In Bollywood, we depict everything with a lot of colour unlike in Hollywood," he explained.

Lead kids Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and Rubina Ali Qureshi however were not spotted at the do. The other kids as well as actor Anil Kapoor made up for the Slumdog... fervour at the event.

The green carpet was held in Macau on Thursday night for the special Cirque Du Soleil show Zaia, a show by aerial acrobats and artists.

The green carpet was also graced by the likes of IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and other actors like Sonam Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anushka Sharma.

Salman, Katrina haunted by Fake sex video

Bad days have indeed hit Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Days after rumours of their split comes something much uglier.

The webworld is flooded with a fake sex video featuring look-alikes of Salman and Katrina. The video, possibly made on a cell-phone originated in Canada, but it took no time for it to spread all over the world.

Reports say that now an MMS clip of the video is also doing the rounds.

Due to the uncanny resemblance of the people in the video to Salman and Katrina, the video was being pitched as an authentic one for quite a while, till some people watched it closely and figured out it was not actually the two Bollywood stars, but look-alikes.

Salman and Katrina have maintained a dignified silence over the issue and have decided to let it die its own death.

Ash, Abhi's Ravan in Trouble

Two caravans used in the shooting of Mani Ratnam's multilingual movie Ravan, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, in Ooty have been seized for having forged vehicle documents, police said on Tuesday.

The two caravans had the same registration number. "An investigation led to findings of fraud in the use of forged vehicle IDs and tax evasion, which in turn led to seizure of four vehicles during the last week," said a police official.

According to police, the vehicles seized in Ooty have been valued at Rs 12 million. Both Abhishek and Aishwarya are said to have used the vehicles during the shooting.

The shooting of Ravan has been shifted to another hill station, Hogenekkal (some 300 km southwest from Chennai).
The police official said he feared the "racket may be much bigger since all top stars use high-priced caravans". Police teams have left for Mumbai and elsewhere in Tamil Nadu to look for other similar vehicles.

Sources close to Ratnam said: "To our knowledge only two vehicles that were being operated for us have been seized. The suppliers who lent logistical support to our outdoor units should be blamed. Our shooting is in progress without any glitches."

"Our office has taken up the issue with the suppliers," the source added. Ravan is being made in Hindi and Tamil. It also stars Tamil actors Vikram and Karthik. Since shooting began last year, minor problems have dogged the venture, including Ratnam being laid down with a mild heart problem, and cinematographer Manikandan handing over the work to another celebrated cameraman Santosh Sivan.

India's premiere B-School IIPM has roped in Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan to host their annual business and marketing quiz.

SRK says "Come to IIPM, I'll see you there." In a first of its kind trend setting move, the institution has signed SRK for three years.

To be held in association with Planman Media's magazine, 4Ps Business and Marketing, it promises to become India's premiere B-School quiz event!

Arindam Choudhary who heads IIPM, says nobody except SRK can make any event big just by his global popularity. Infact he is perceived as the intelligent face of Bollywood because of his economics education background.

Arindam added that SRK was the natural choice for IIPM and they are proud that SRK has accepted the request. The show will be held at the IIPM campus in Satbari, Delhi.
